Product overviewOverview

This is static sealing for modest pressures and joints that are not opened often. Pre-applied sealant is sheared as the screw engages, fills the helical clearance and then cures in place. Sealing depends on the coating being continuous around the full circumference; an interrupted bead leaves a channel along the thread.

Material: Spring Steel 65Mn / Stainless Steel 304. It is threaded in so the coating fills the thread clearance.

Why does the bead have to be continuous?

The thread clearance is a helical channel. One break in the bead is enough for pressure to escape along that path, so coverage is inspected around the circumference as well as along the length.
