A spring pin works by radial elasticity: its free diameter is slightly larger than the hole, so pressing it in compresses the pin and the spring-back grips the bore. That grip provides retention and absorbs hole and pin tolerance, which makes assembly easier than with a solid dowel and gives some damping under shock.
Material: Customized per specification. It is pressed into the hole, where spring force holds it.
Choose coiled pins for repeated disassembly and seamless pins for heavy shear.

| Standard | GB/T 879 series (spring pins) |
| Installation | pressed into the hole, held by spring force |
| Typical substrate | moulds, fixtures, linkage location |
| Key inspections | diameter, insertion/push-out force, shear strength |
Outside diameter, length and slot form checked to the GB/T 879 series. We recommend a pilot assembly at the actual torque and mating part before locking the process parameters for volume.
