Plastic screws differ from metal thread-formers: a narrower thread angle (30° is common), coarser pitch and a rounded crest let the polymer flow rather than be cut, which lowers the stress concentration that leads to cracking. Rounded thread roots serve the same purpose.
installed by electric driver into a moulded hole.
Set hole size by polymer: brittle grades such as PS and PMMA need a larger hole, ductile ABS and PC tolerate a smaller one.
