The principle is compliance for strength: radial springiness absorbs the pitch interference of tightening and reduces galling, while wear moves to a replaceable insert so the base thread survives repeated assembly. Installation requires a special tap that cuts the base thread to the insert's specified pitch diameter, followed by a driving tool; tangless types need no tang break-off.
Material: SUS304 Stainless Steel. It is installed with the dedicated insert tap and its setting tool.
Insert length is usually 1.5D–2D; shorter lengths carry less load, longer ones add little and complicate installation.
| Standard | GB/T 24425.1 |
|---|---|
| Material | SUS304 Stainless Steel |
| Wire tensile strength | ≥1370 MPa (work-hardened condition) |
| Hardness | HV 380–450 (wire section, indicative) |
| Installation | installed with a dedicated insert tap and driving tool |
| Typical substrate | aluminium, magnesium, cast iron, engineering plastics |
| Key inspections | free diameter, post-install gauging, pull-out |
After installation, threads are gauged and a pull-out test records the failure load.Alternative materials and finishes can be quoted side by side during sampling, so cost and corrosion resistance can be traded off explicitly.
