The insert is a helical coil wound from diamond-section austenitic stainless wire that has been cold-rolled and work-hardened. Its free diameter is larger than the tapped hole, so it is wound in under pre-tension and springs outward against the thread flanks; retention comes from that radial spring load, not from an adhesive or a key. The inner profile of the wire becomes the working thread, and because the coil is elastic it spreads load over the full engaged length and tolerates small lead and pitch differences between the bolt and the tapped hole.
Material: SUS304 Stainless Steel.
Specify the STI tap together with the insert: the tapped hole, the insert length in diameters and the bolt engagement are one dimension chain, not three separate choices.

Installed inserts gauged with a go/no-go plug gauge, and the first and last thread checked for position against the surface.Alternative materials and finishes can be quoted side by side during sampling, so cost and corrosion resistance can be traded off explicitly.
