A plastic thread loses strength after a few assembly cycles. A brass insert is embedded by heat staking, ultrasonic insertion or in-moulding; knurls, nets or slots on the outside grip the plastic mechanically, while the brass carries the internal thread and delivers metal-grade joint strength.
Material: Brass C3604. It is heat-staked, inserted ultrasonically, or moulded in.
For heat staking, the insert should be 10–20 °C above the plastic melt point: too cool gives poor grip, too hot degrades the polymer.
| Material | Brass C3604 |

| Standard | GB/T 197 (6H), GB/T 4423 (brass rod) |
| Installation | heat staked, ultrasonically inserted or moulded in |
| Typical substrate | ABS, PC, PA and other engineering plastics |
| Key inspections | thread gauging, insertion torque, pull-out |
Internal threads are gauged 6H on every part; outside diameter and knurl depth are sampled. We recommend a pilot assembly at the actual torque and mating part before locking the process parameters for volume.
