The critical dimensions are coaxiality between internal and external threads and overall length. Going from 1.2 to 1.4 mm raises the thread size and with it the torque the joint will take, which matters where boards are stacked several high and the bottom joint carries the whole column. Height tolerance across the column then decides how evenly the boards are clamped.
Material: Alloy Structural Steel. It is driven in one pass to clamp the board stack.
Specify height tolerance for the assembled column, not for each screw; in a tall stack the errors accumulate at the last joint.
| Material | Alloy Structural Steel |
|---|---|
| Property Class | Grade 12.9 |
| Standard | GB/T 3098.1, GB/T 197 |
| Installation | single driving step for board stacking |
| Typical substrate | multilayer PCBs and industrial boards |
| Key inspections | thread gauging, coaxiality, overall length |
Overall length and thread length are measured optically against drawing tolerance.Alternative materials and finishes can be quoted side by side during sampling, so cost and corrosion resistance can be traded off explicitly.
