A slotted bit drives on the two slot walls, so blade thickness and width must match the slot. Too thick and the bit will not enter; too thin and contact area collapses, concentrating torque on the blade edge and burring the slot. Blade parallelism matters as well: a tapered blade rocks in the slot and slips out under load.
Material: S2 Alloy Steel. It is installed by 1/4-inch chuck on electric or pneumatic driver.
Match blade width to slot length: too narrow rocks in the slot, too wide will not enter.
| Material | S2 Alloy Steel |
|---|---|
| Hardness | HRC58-62 |
| Drive | 1/4 inch hex shank |
| Sizes | SL2-SL8 |
| Standard | DIN 3126, ISO 2380 (slotted) |
| Installation | 1/4-inch chuck on electric or pneumatic driver |
| Typical substrate | slotted screws |
| Key inspections | blade dimensions, hardness, torque to fracture |
Blade thickness, width and parallelism are checked on a profile projector. We recommend a pilot assembly at the actual torque and mating part before locking the process parameters for volume.
