A rivet stud is the mirror image of a rivet nut: it provides an external thread instead of an internal one. The standoff is held by displaced sheet material flowing into an undercut, not by friction, so push-out and torque-out depend on hole size and on sheet hardness rather than on how hard it is pressed. In hard or thin sheet the undercut fills poorly and the part works loose under vibration.
Material: Carbon Steel / Stainless Steel. It is set from one side with a rivet-stud tool.
Check sheet hardness and thickness against the standoff range; a hole that is too large leaves the undercut empty and reduces both push-out and torque-out.
