These parts are cold-headed and thread-rolled. At a head thickness around 0.6 mm a spring washer no longer fits, so locking has to be built into the underside. The teeth crush the mating surface slightly on tightening, giving releasable mechanical interlock; repeated use is limited by tooth wear.
installed by electric or hand driver.
Teeth only work when the mating face is softer than the teeth; on hardened steel use a nylon patch or pre-applied adhesive instead.

| Standard | GB/T 3098.1 (mechanical properties), GB/T 197 (thread tolerance) |
| Installation | electric or hand driver |
| Typical substrate | phones, wearables, miniature modules |
| Key inspections | head thickness, head diameter, thread gauging |
Sampling follows GB/T 90.1. Threads are gauged 6g, head diameter and thickness are measured optically, and carburised parts are checked for case depth and surface hardness. We recommend a pilot assembly at the actual torque and mating part before locking the process parameters for volume.
