A clinching screw is a screw and a clinch base in one part: the base is pressed into the panel so the sheet flows into its groove, while the threaded portion protrudes to hold the cover. The screw is held in the panel by a clinched knurl and a spring element, which lets it turn freely but not fall out. Retention force has to be low enough for finger operation and high enough that the screw does not drop out during handling, so it is specified as a range rather than a minimum.
Material: Carbon Steel / Stainless Steel. It is pressed into a prepared hole from one side.
Specify both retention force and operating torque; optimising only for retention makes the screw hard to turn by hand.
| Material | Carbon Steel / Stainless Steel |
|---|---|
| Type | Rivet nut |
| Standard | GB/T 90.1, customer drawing |
| Head style | pan head |
| Installation | pressed into a prepared hole (single side) |
| Typical substrate | panels, covers and access doors |
| Key inspections | push-out, perpendicularity, captive function |
Push-out and torque tests after pressing are sampled. We recommend a pilot assembly at the actual torque and mating part before locking the process parameters for volume.
