IP68 O-Ring Sealing Bolts

IP68 sealing bolt with a face O-ring: the thread carries the load and the ring seals the bearing face.
IP68 O-Ring Sealing Bolts
Key specifications
  • Installationthreaded in, compressing the O-ring
  • StandardGB/T 3452.1 (O-rings), GB/T 197
  • Typical substratehydraulic, coolant and pneumatic circuits
  • Key inspectionsleak/pressure hold, O-ring hardness, groove dimensions
  • Drive TypeTorx Plus

Product overviewOverview

The groove must leave room for the rubber. Separating load and seal means the bolt can be torqued for clamp force without over-compressing the ring, provided the groove is deep enough to take the compression. A groove that is too shallow bottoms out and the ring stops sealing.

installed by threaded in, compressing the O-ring.

Key featuresFeatures

  • Groove depth must accept the full compression without bottoming.
  • Elastomer selected to the medium: NBR for oils, FKM for heat and chemicals.
  • 6H/6g threads keep the joint serviceable.
  • Stainless bodies for hydraulic, coolant and washdown service.

Typical applicationsApplications

  • EV motor cooling circuits
  • Pneumatic cylinders and valve end caps
  • Cleaning equipment and pumps

Selection notesSelection

Replace the O-ring whenever the joint is opened; rubber takes a permanent set after compression.

Frequently asked questionsFAQ

What happens if the O-ring groove is too shallow?
The groove bottoms out before the ring reaches its design compression, so the seal is made by metal contact rather than by the ring, and leakage follows.
What matters during installation of the IP68 O-Ring Sealing Bolts?
Tighten in a cross pattern to keep the flange square, then verify with a leak test at the rated pressure Groove depth must accept the full compression without bottoming.

Manufacturing and inspection

Assembled parts are pressure-tested, recording pressure decay.Alternative materials and finishes can be quoted side by side during sampling, so cost and corrosion resistance can be traded off explicitly.
