Product overviewOverview

This is static sealing for modest pressures and joints that are not opened often. Thread sealing and face sealing fail for different reasons: the thread sealant closes the helical path, while the face element forms a continuous line against the bearing surface. With only the thread coated, micro-unevenness under the head remains the leak path.

Material: Stainless Steel / Brass. It is threaded in so the coating fills the thread clearance.

Pick the sealant by medium and the face seal hardness by pressure; a softer element limits compression set at low pressure.

Is a face seal still needed if the thread is coated?

It depends on the class required. Sealant cannot close the micro-unevenness of a machined face, so above IP67 or where pressure is present a second barrier is added at the face.
