The governing issue is stiffness. As length grows, the same side load produces more deflection, which shows up as runout at speed and misalignment between bit and recess, accelerating wear. Above a certain length-to-diameter ratio, the answer is a stiffer material or a larger shank, or a guide bushing that supports the bit near the tip.
Material: S2 Alloy Steel. It is installed by automated screwdriving head chuck.
Choose length from module stroke and bushing position; extra length amplifies runout and loses torque.
| Material | S2 Alloy Steel |
|---|---|
| Length | 75mm/100mm/150mm |
| Hardness | HRC60-62 |
| Standard | DIN 3126, ISO 1173 |
| Installation | automated screwdriving head chuck |
| Typical substrate | deep pockets and multi-spindle heads |
| Key inspections | straightness, runout, tip dimensions |
Overall length, tip dimensions and straightness are checked on a projector and runout fixture. We recommend a pilot assembly at the actual torque and mating part before locking the process parameters for volume.
