Bond strength depends on three things: surface preparation, adhesive thickness and cure. The groove holds the excess adhesive so the bond line cannot collapse below its intended thickness when the stud is pressed down. Without it, pressing force decides the bond-line thickness, and the result varies from part to part on the same line.
Material: Carbon Steel / Stainless Steel. It is bonded with structural adhesive after the surfaces are prepared.
For sustained loads, run a creep test; adhesive joints deform slowly under permanent load.
| Material | Carbon Steel / Stainless Steel |
|---|---|
| Adhesive | Epoxy / Cyanoacrylate |
| Standard | GB/T 7124 (lap shear), customer drawing |
| Installation | structural adhesive after surface preparation |
| Typical substrate | composites, thin housings, decorative panels |
| Key inspections | pull-off/shear strength, bond-line thickness, ageing |
Bond-line thickness is checked by ultrasonic gauge or cross-section.Alternative materials and finishes can be quoted side by side during sampling, so cost and corrosion resistance can be traded off explicitly.
