Tooth direction matters. A pan head with a flange gives a rounded, low-profile head with a defined bearing area, and the adhesive seals that area as the screw is driven. The pan form avoids the sharp edge of a countersunk head on thin or coated panels, where a countersink would break the coating.
installed by torque wrench with teeth facing the clamped part.
Unidirectional teeth must face the load direction; reversing them cancels most of the locking effect.
| Head Type | Pan Head |
|---|---|
| Standard | GB/T 3098.1, ISO 16130 (transverse vibration) |
| Head style | pan head |
| Installation | torque wrench with teeth facing the clamped part |
| Typical substrate | chassis, structures, construction machinery |
| Key inspections | tooth form, locking performance, hardness |
Tooth angle, height and distribution are checked optically. We recommend a pilot assembly at the actual torque and mating part before locking the process parameters for volume.
