The cross-section is trilobular: three arcs joined by three lobes. Driven into a prepared hole, the lobes press the base material outward and the metal flows plastically into the thread spaces, forming a matching internal thread. No material is removed, so there are no chips to trap or clear.
Material: Carbon Steel. It is driven straight into the pilot hole.
Pilot hole diameter follows material and thickness: smaller for soft materials to fill the thread, larger for hard ones to keep torque manageable.
| Material | Carbon Steel |

| Property Class | Grade 8.8 |
| Standard | GB/T 3098.1, company standard (thread forming) |
| Installation | driven directly into the pilot hole |
| Typical substrate | sheet metal, aluminium extrusions, castings |
| Key inspections | driving torque, failure torque, hardness |
Trilobular cross-section and thread form checked optically. We recommend a pilot assembly at the actual torque and mating part before locking the process parameters for volume.
